The Position:
We are seeking a talented and motivated C++ Linux Software Developer to join our team. As a C/C++ Linux Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications for Linux-based systems. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our software products.
Location: This position is a hybrid position with our offices in Burnaby, B.C.

- Design and implement software solutions using C/C++ programming language on Linux platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into efficient and reliable software designs.
- Debug and troubleshoot complex software issues in a Linux or UNIX-like environment.
- Design and implement multithreaded software components to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Utilize scripting languages, such as Python or Bash, to automate tasks and improve software development workflows.
- Writing technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and test plans.
- Apply modern software architectures, object-oriented design principles, and software design patterns to create robust and maintainable code.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and advancements in C++ programming, Linux systems, and software development methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, and quality assurance, to define software requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
- Develop efficient and reliable code that adheres to industry standards and best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and providing constructive feedback to peers to maintain code quality and enhance team performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues in a timely manner.
What you bring
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of C/C++ programming.
- Experience developing software in a Linux or UNIX-like environment.
- Experience in developing and debugging multithreaded software.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
- Good understanding of modern software architectures, object-oriented design, and software design patterns.
- Experience with Embedded Systems and Microcontroller programming is an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Experience with software development tools, such as debuggers, profilers, and version control systems (e.g., Git Flow).
- Experience with network programming and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP) is an asset.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum).
