
The Position
Product Owner / Product ManagerReporting to the CTO, the Product Owner/Manager helps drive the product vision, strategy and execution. You will develop a deep understanding of the target market/industry, build close relationships with key stakeholders, and define the business strategy for the product. You will provide constant feedback to the team and help the team in their execution plans. This position is based out of our offices in Burnaby, B.C. which is currently operating on a mostly remote basis due to COVID-19.

What you get to do
You will own the product from start to finish. You will be the liaison between the business and the technical; manage the technical aspects to deliver a business product to internal or external customers.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand business objectives
- Set clear and ambitious product vision and communicate it effectively to key stakeholders and the team
- Keep the product in line with business goals
- Create a product roadmap
- Prioritize needs and objectives by juggling scope, budget, and time
- Manage the product by mapping out dependencies
- Oversee development stages – contribute to the planning, execution, and review of each item
- Work with the team to refine and improve the development process
- Accountable for each stage of the development process and final process
- Inspect and evaluate product progress through each iteration
- Ensure customer-driven design considering user pain points & usability test results
- Build backlog of product features, i.e. write user stories and acceptance criteria together with the team
- Continuously improve backlog ensuring all items are clearly described, estimated and prioritized
- Drive sprint-and release plans together with the rest of the team

What you bring
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in business management, software engineering, mining engineering or any other relevant degree is required
- Understanding of Agile Development and Project Management
- Proficiency with JIRA or Azure DevOps
- Confident in managing the backlog
- Ability to write and express complex ideas clearly and succinctly
- 2+ years experience as product owner or as product manager or similar role within product management
- Knowledge of relevant technology stack and participate in technical design discussions and solutioning
- Proven ability to effectively communicate with technical end-users of all seniority levels
- Mining industry experience or knowledge is a strong asset
- Start-up experience is an asset
- B2B product experience is asset
- Ability to travel to our clients’ sites 5% of the time
